Impresses with points on F1 debut and generally outperforms more experienced team mate Bourdais, who is ultimately dropped mid-season, leaving Buemi to lead the Italian squad. Enjoys a positive end to the year, taking home points from the final two rounds.

Reserve driver for Red Bull. Sixth in GP2 series with one win. Second in GP2 Asia with two wins.
2007
Finishes runner-up in the Formula Three Euroseries and takes part in five GP2 events, replacing an injured Michael Ammermuller. Tests for Red Bull.
