Two wins in Speedcar Series. Official test and reserve driver for Force India. Promoted to race seat for last five rounds after Giancarlo Fisichella moves to Ferrari. Starts with a bang by clinching seventh on the grid in Italy, but his home race ends in retirement. Best finish is 11th in Brazil.
2008
Third driver for Force India team. Also participates in Speedcar Series, taking victory in the opening round in Dubai.
2007
Difficult second season with Toro Rosso, enduring seven retirements and scoring just once with a sixth place in China. Overshadowed by new team mate Vettel in latter part of season and is dropped by the Red Bull-backed squad for 2008.
2006
First full season in Formula One racing, with Toro Rosso. Impresses with his speed and consistency, scoring fledgling team's only point at Indianapolis.
2005
Makes Formula One debut with Red Bull in San Marino, scoring on first appearance. Results in subsequent three outings less impressive and rival Christian Klien fills their shared seat for the remainder of the season, with Liuzzi taking third driver role.
2004
Wins the last ever FIA International Formula 3000 championship with Arden.
2003
Finishes fourth in the FIA International Formula 3000 championship, the season's best-placed rookie.
2002
Ninth overall in German Formula Three championship. Formula One test with Williams.
2001
First season of single-seater racing. Runner-up in German Formula Renault championship.
